Spencer Fane Supports Nancy C. Dreher Lecture on Bankruptcy Law and Practice

April 30, 2026

Spencer Fane was pleased to sponsor the reception for the 11th Annual Nancy C. Dreher Lecture on Bankruptcy Law and Practice – an event attorney Jim Lodoen coordinates – on April 21 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition, Eric Johnson was a program speaker.  Both are Fellows in the American College of Bankruptcy.

A collaboration between the American College of Bankruptcy, University of Minnesota Law School’s Corporate Institute, MSBA / HCBA / RCBA Bankruptcy Section, and Turnaround Management Association, this year’s program centered on the topic, Riding the Receivership Wave: Insight from Receivers, Lawyers and the Bench. Eric and his fellow CLE panelists examined the legal framework governing receiverships and how they are applied in practice through the lens of a receiver, experienced restructuring counsel, and a judge. Their practical insights addressed advising clients, managing risk, navigating receivership proceedings, and more, while including lessons learned from recent cases and the evolving bench expectations.

After the lecture, attendees gathered at the Courtyard by Mariott for an hourlong reception featuring refreshments and engaging conversation.
