March 5, 2026

Spencer Fane attorney Kaleb Rasmussen was the featured guest on the February 17 episode of Public Health: Unscripted, a Saint Louis University (SLU) College for Public Health and Social Justice podcast.

Led by SLU students, Public Health: Unscripted focuses on the students, professors, staff, and community partners making an impact on the public health landscape of St. Louis, Missouri. In his episode, Kaleb reflects on pursuing dual degrees at SLU, discusses the intersection of health care and law, and offers insight into his current health care law practice at Spencer Fane. He also highlights relevant legal updates and shares a volunteer opportunity with the St. Louis-based nonprofit Archway Refugee Connections, fka Kindness Begins With Me, which supports local refugees.

Speaking to the benefits of his educational path – which led to getting both JD and MHA degrees – Kaleb outlines how he was able to get specialized and additional legal knowledge for the industry he’s passionate about: “It’s a lifestyle you’re looking for. You want to establish yourself as a health care attorney. You’re passionate about patient outcomes, social justice in health care; you want to see the big picture. It’s not one area that’s too niche.”

At the firm, Kaleb is a data-driven attorney who advises organizations on complex state and federal laws governing transactions, compliance, and reimbursement. Serving both health care and employee benefits clients, he provides legal solutions grounded by data so they can make confident decisions amid risk.
