Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Katherine Cochran to the firm’s Minneapolis office as an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.
Katherine assists clients across a wide variety of industries with complex commercial litigation matters in and out of the courtroom, focusing a large part of her practice on contract disputes, business torts, and premises liability matters. As she continues to build and curate a reputation as an effective, full-service litigator, she has already secured her position within powerful teams navigating high-stakes and large-sum commercial disputes.
Notably, Katherine has been externally distinguished by multiple legal publications for her exceptional work in commercial litigation.
“Katie joins us with the hands-on proactivity and confidence that bolsters our LDR practice as well as the community mindset that underscores our firm’s culture of giving back,” said Randi Winter, office managing partner for Spencer Fane in Minneapolis. “We are excited to welcome her as our Minnesota offices continue to grow with intention while fostering talent and a focus on collaboration that reverberates across offices.”
Passionate about giving back to her community, Katherine has served as a volunteer attorney for several important nonprofit initiatives, including the Innocence Project of Minnesota, the Minnesota Justice Foundation, and WomenVenture, which provides free resources to support economic success for women business owners facing unique obstacles.
Katherine earned her bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Nicole J. Starr of the Ramsey County District Court in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
