Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney DeAndrea Washington as a finalist for Texas Lawyer’s 2025 Influential Woman of the Year award.
This distinction – part of the annual Texas Legal Awards – honors female attorneys who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession as trailblazers, advocates, and leaders. DeAndrea is one of only 10 Influential Woman of the Year finalists across the state of Texas this year, earning her spot on the shortlist through extensive internal and external achievements that showcase her dedication to breaking barriers and advancing equity and justice across the legal industry.
In her finalist Q&A, DeAndrea shared her perspective on amplifying her voice and demonstrating leadership. “My primary passion and motivation for leadership is to lead through action – not merely speaking about change but BEING the change,” she shared. “As a result of many meaningful opportunities to participate in leadership, I am a visible representation of true change within our legal community and an example to our colleagues and those outside of our firm that no matter who you are, what you look like, or where you are from – there is a path for success.”
At Spencer Fane, DeAndrea Washington is integral to the Spencer Fane Labor and Employment team. She provides preventive counsel and litigates employment disputes on behalf of employers in federal and state courts, in arbitration, and before various administrative agencies. DeAndrea is also an increasingly visible and respected voice at the firm. In addition to becoming the youngest appointee to the firm’s Executive Committee, she serves on the Compensation and DEI Committees and as a leader of talent management throughout the firm. In these leadership roles, DeAndrea advises on initiatives that impact strategy and culture, helping Spencer Fane continue its evolution on all fronts while also blazing impactful trails for attorneys and legal professionals.
