Andy Lester Appointed to U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Advisory Committee

June 27, 2025

Spencer Fane is pleased to announce attorney Andy Lester’s appointment as chair of the Oklahoma Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR).

The USCCR is a bipartisan, independent commission of the U.S. federal government that informs the development of national civil rights policy and enhances enforcement of federal civil rights laws by investigating, reporting on, and making recommendations. Through 56 Advisory Committees – one in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five U.S. territories – the Commission conducts studies on civil rights issues within their geographic jurisdictions.

In his new role, Andy and his fellow Oklahoma Committee members will advise the Commission and contribute to policy changes at the national, state, and local levels by creating and releasing reports on topics that effect civil rights with respect to race, sex, national origin, and disability.

At Spencer Fane, Andy maintains a robust civil litigation and appellate practice in both state and federal court. His fields of emphasis include complex business, civil rights, commercial, constitutional, and state and local government law.
