Spencer Fane attorney Aaron Dean recently represented a Minnesota contingent of subcontractor leaders at the National Subcontractors Alliance’s Spring Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 23-25.
At the NSA Attorney Council, Aaron presented a legislative and case law update on issues facing Minnesota subcontractors. He was invited to participate as the Chapter Attorney for the Minnesota Subcontractors Association (MSA). Aaron is one of the authors of and provided testimony at the Minnesota legislature for a bill to limit use of electronic platforms to delay payment to subcontractors and ensure payment transparency on Minnesota public construction projects.
A nonprofit trade association representing construction industry specialty contractors and suppliers, MSA is dedicated to addressing the business issues affecting all subcontractors and suppliers, with a focus on safety, education, and legislative reform. The MSA is affiliated with the National Subcontractors Alliance, which connects subcontractor trade associations across the U.S. to exchange ideas, information, and influence relevant to the industry.
An attorney in the firm’s Minneapolis office, Aaron represents general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in every aspect of construction dispute resolution. He has been affiliated with the MSA for nearly 20 years, during which he has served in numerous leadership roles with the association, including as Chapter Attorney, President, Vice President, Treasurer, and a board member.
