Ayesha Mehdi Provides Guidance on Health Care Law

March 9, 2020

Spencer Fane attorney Ayesha Mehdi recently published two articles on health care law.

Ayesha’s article in Health Care Quarterly focused on HIPAA rules surrounding online medical reviews. Titled “Health care providers should consider HIPAA before responding to negative reviews,” the article outlines the problems doctors may run into with online reviews.

“The best practice is to have policies in place for HIPAA compliant responses,” Ayesha wrote in the article. “One that avoids acknowledging that the patient is, in fact, your patient and one that invites the patient to connect with you offline.”

For Nevada Chiropractic Counsel, Ayesha provided insight on “Deposition tips for Chiropractic Doctors.”

Ayesha also recently presented an employment law update for the Southern Nevada Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) covering pre-employment marijuana screening, Nevada’s mandatory paid leave law, higher minimum wage, salary basis under FLSA, misclassification of employees.
