Spencer Fane Partner Richard Walters was recently recognized as a law firm leader who “demonstrated extraordinary vision, innovation and leadership during the year” by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
The award is part of the publication’s annual Missouri Lawyers Awards, which recognize attorneys across the state for achievements in a variety of categories. Walters was selected for the honor because of his instrumental role in the growth and success of the Spencer Fane Springfield, Mo., office, which opened in June 2014.
Under Walters’ leadership as managing partner, the Springfield office has more than doubled in size and is now ranked as one of the top 10 firms in the city – achievements noted by the Springfield Business Journal. The journey has included two physical office moves – opening its initial location and then building an entirely new location after outgrowing the first, all within a year. Walters’ goal for the office has been to grow strategically to meet the needs of clients.
In addition to the Law Firm Leader award, Walters has earned numerous other accolades for his exceptional work as a real estate attorney throughout his career, including previously being named an “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
