Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Partner Pete Heaven to the firm’s Real Estate Solutions Group in the Overland Park, Kansas office.
Pete has been helping clients for more than 35 years, focusing his practice on counseling numerous residential and commercial real estate developers in the Midwest. He also handles contract negotiation, bidding, and construction issues for a number of regional contractors. Additionally, Pete draws upon 18 years of experience as the City Attorney for the City of Merriam, Kansas, to assist his clients in presenting proposals to cities and counties for planning, zoning, platting, public incentives, tax abatement and private activity bonds.

Pete is a decorated attorney and has been selected as a Leading Lawyer by Chambers USA since 2003 and a Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer since 2005. Best Lawyers recognized him as Real Estate Lawyer of the Year for eastern Kansas in 2010, and Land Use and Zoning Lawyer of the Year for Kansas City, Kansas in 2012.

Pete regularly gives presentations to the professional and civic groups in which he participates. He previously served as co-editor of the Kansas Bar Association’s Real Estate Handbook and earned his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.
