Spencer Fane Welcomes Mark Wasem to Oil and Gas Group in Dallas

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to welcome Mark Wasem as a partner in its Oil and Gas practice group.

Wasem joins the firm’s growing Dallas office, bringing more than 30 years of experience assisting clients with a broad range of oil and gas transactions. His practice includes the acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas properties and natural gas pipelines, development and operation of natural gas pipelines, and the contractual and regulatory issues for upstream and midstream energy companies.

Notably, Wasem has been involved in numerous deals valued at more than $100 million, including a $1.2 billion sale of oil and gas properties in Michigan.

A member of the Natural Resources and Energy Law Sections with the American Bar Association, Wasem has experience negotiating agreements for acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas assets and related contracts and aids in the formation and operation of joint ventures. He has represented clients in matters before Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Railroad Commission of Texas, and various municipalities.

Wasem completed his undergraduate education at Millikin University and later added a Master of Arts from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School.
