Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce that Mark Cole has joined the firm’s Health Care practice as Of Counsel in Overland Park, Kan.
Cole has extensive experience representing an array of health care companies, including hospitals, physicians and other providers, medical device manufacturers, and pharmaceutical companies. He handles all aspects of compliance, internal investigations, and litigation; providing his clients with the best outcomes possible.
During his 10-year legal career, Cole has practiced law in corporations as well as in private law firms, including a previous stint with Spencer Fane. Most recently, Cole served as in-house counsel for the world’s top tax services provider, giving him first-hand knowledge of how to manage enterprise risk and prevent litigation from compromising a company’s overall goals.
“We are thrilled to get Mark back into private practice,” said Patrick J. Whalen, Spencer Fane Managing Partner. “He is an exceptional attorney who complements our team well. Our clients will benefit from not only his perspective and superior litigation skills but also his dedication to providing them with the best service possible.”
Cole’s comprehensive knowledge of health law includes individual and consolidated actions in state and federal courts, from class action litigation to peer-review processes and external appeals. He is also adept at handling arbitration proceedings with the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Cole earned his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Kansas. He has also previously been recognized by Super Lawyers. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in each state are selected to receive this honor.
