Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Jacob Reeves has joined the firm’s Environmental and Energy practice groups as Of Counsel in Oklahoma City.
With more than 10 years of in-house legal experience at large, publicly traded oil and gas companies, Reeves understands how to tailor legal strategies that fit within clients’ broader business objectives. He focuses on litigation and dispute resolution related to issues arising from upstream and midstream oil and gas development.
“Jacob’s proven effectiveness counseling regional companies provides our clients with valuable insights and industry-specific experience,” said Patrick J. Whalen, Spencer Fane Managing Partner. “He will be a great asset to our practice, and his skills and commitment to each client’s vision are a true complement to the firm’s dedication to customer service.”
Reeves strengthens the firm’s oil and gas industry team, which is led by Patrice Douglas, a former commissioner of the Oklahoma Corporate Commission, the region’s chief regulatory body for the energy, public unities and telecommunications industries, and Partner Paul Trimble, who has more than 25 years experience handling complex transactions and litigation for oil and gas clients.
In addition to litigation and pre-litigation disputes, Reeves has extensive experience negotiating supply chain and procurement contracts and confidentiality agreements. He has reviewed many other types of industry-specific agreements, such as oil and gas leases, pipeline, compressor and valve site easements, and gathering and gas purchase contracts.
Reeves earned his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.
