Spencer Fane is pleased to announce the launch of its new charitable giving program with the mission of renewing the firm’s commitment to the arts and innovation community while maximizing the impact of its annual giving. The program will pilot in the firm’s Kansas City offices and later debut in its Springfield, Mo., St. Louis, Mo., and Denver offices.
The Spencer Fane Charitable Giving Program in Kansas City will provide significant support to select local nonprofit arts organizations through a $50,000 donation to each over the course of three years. The program has been designed as a rotation so that one new recipient will enter the program each year with another exiting upon completion of its three-year cycle. Spencer Fane’s primary goal for the program is to encourage long-standing relationships with partner nonprofit organizations and provide employees with additional opportunities to become involved with the firm’s causes.
The inaugural program recipient for 2015 will be the Kansas City Art Institute. While the firm evaluates candidates to enter the program in 2016 and 2017, it will continue its support of two organizations as honorary program recipients due to the firm’s history of involvement with each. The Kansas City Repertory Theatre will be a program participant until 2016 and ArtsKC – Regional Arts Council will be placed in the program until 2017.
As a kick-off to the new giving program, the Kansas City Art Institute will host a tour of the campus for firm members in May. The tour will give Spencer Fane employees an opportunity to become more familiar with the program’s first official member and generate excitement for the new program.
