Spencer Fane Expands Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice

Spencer Fane is pleased to welcome Patrick J. McAndrews to the firm’s Kansas City office where he will serve as a senior associate within the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

Prior to Spencer Fane, McAndrews worked as a litigation associate at a local, boutique law firm where he focused his practice on a wide range of complex commercial litigation and employment matters. His experience includes representing clients in a variety of employment disputes where he has successfully negotiated numerous settlements and argued motions on their behalf. His noteworthy accomplishments include obtaining a favorable summary judgment for a Kansas corporation in a breach of contract case. He has also acted as an appointed Special Master in several cases.

McAndrews’ practice is uniquely informed by his judicial clerkship for the Hon. Vernon E. Scoville, III, of the 16th Circuit Court of Missouri. During this time, he conducted research and provided recommendations to the Court on both civil and criminal cases. Furthermore, he drafted proposed orders and responded to motions to dismiss, to compel discovery and for summary judgment. Prior to his clerkship, McAndrews interned at the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office in the Drug Crime Division and at the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office in the Criminal Division.

McAndrews earned his law degree from Michigan State University where he graduated cum laude and was on the Honor Roll and Dean’s list. He was also an Honors Scholarship Recipient and worked on the Journal of Business and Securities Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in advertising, during which time he served as president of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and Director of the Inter-Fraternity Counsel.

McAndrews is an active member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and has served on the KC Counselor Editorial Board and as Vice Chair of the Mentor Program. He is a graduate of the KCMBA’s Bar Leadership Academy and has been recognized as a Rising Star by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers for the past two years.
