Kansas City, Missouri – Spencer Fane Britt & Browne LLP is pleased to announce the addition of an associate to its Kansas City office. Chinenye Okafor will join the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group where she will focus on patent and trademark acquisition as well as intellectual property litigation matters.
Prior to joining Spencer Fane, Okafor served as a summer associate for a large law firm in Munich, Germany where she focused on patent and intellectual property litigation. Before this, she worked as a student associate for another large firm in Washington, D.C., at which she conducted legal research and assisted in composing a wide range of legal briefs, reports and journal articles.
Okafor’s experience as an intellectual property attorney is uniquely informed by her background in engineering. After graduating from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Okafor worked for several years as a systems engineer for an avionic technologies corporation in Dallas. She also served as an electrical engineering patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office while simultaneously earning her law degree from George Mason University School of Law.
Spencer Fane is excited to welcome Okafor to the Intellectual Property Practice Group where her experience and knowledge will be a great complement to the firm’s business model and commitment to client service.
