Spencer Fane LLP attorney Roger Denny was recently quoted in the Raleigh News & Observer’s PolitiFact in an article analyzing the “market rate” for NCAA athletic director salaries.
Titled “Is a $705K salary ‘below market’ for an NCAA athletic director?” the article uses University of North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham’s case as an example. In the article, Roger compares Cunningham to other athletic directors with similar reputations. “I think he’s distinguished himself to a point that he should be considered among the top quarter of athletic directors,” Roger said. “So then, within the Power Five, that suggests that a salary even more than he received would be easily supportable.”
