Overview

Scott Seifert represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of litigation matters, and has a strong track record of success presenting to judges, juries, and arbitrators in legal disputes. He has tried many cases in both state and federal courts, and his experience includes complex contract cases, shareholder disputes, lease disputes, non-compete / non-solicitation agreements, trade secrets, nondisclosure agreements, breach of fiduciary duty, and construction cases.

Scott began his legal career at a large law firm in Kansas, where he was given numerous opportunities to try cases and develop his talents in the courtroom. He is a graduate of Washburn University School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor with Dean’s Honors and was also a member of Phi Alpha Delta. He previously attended the University of Kansas, earning his B.S. in journalism with a major in advertising.

Scott is actively involved in his community. He served on the City of Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission for four years and was selected for Leadership Frisco Class 2. He has also served on the board of the Frisco YMCA and chaired its annual Partners Campaign. He is a founding member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Frisco and has acted as chancellor.

In addition, Scott has been a youth coach for many years, developing the talents of young athletes in football, basketball, baseball and soccer. He is also an active member of the legal community as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, as a member of the Dallas Bar Association’s Business Litigation Section as well as the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas.

  • Obtained a defense verdict following a one week jury trial in the Dallas County District Court on breach of fiduciary duty claims arising from actions taken by the defendant while acting as the Chief Restructuring Officer of a corporation during an acquisition.
  • Successfully enforced at a temporary injunction hearing in the Harris County District Court non-compete / non-solicitation restrictive covenants in an employment agreement against the former sales manager of a large produce company in a 5 state geographic area.
  • Obtained a jury verdict in the Dallas County District Court in excess of $1 million on behalf of a large manufacturing client against its landlord for damages caused by the failure to timely and properly make adequate repairs to the facility as required by the commercial lease agreement.
