Overview

Dick Scarritt practiced with the firm’s real estate, business and finance, and environmental groups, and previously served as chair of the firm’s real estate law group.

Dick led a diverse and multifaceted practice in the areas of real property development, financing, sales and leasing, general business development and financing, and business acquisitions and dispositions. Dick assisted numerous incoming businesses with identifying and procuring economic development opportunities and assistance, and he regularly met with and appeared before planning, zoning, construction and building code and economic development staffs, boards, and commissions, as well as the legislative bodies of the various communities and other political subdivisions in the area.

Dick was a member of the American, Missouri, and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Associations, and the Lawyers Association of Kansas City, and was active in the real estate law committees of each. He was a co-author of Missouri Real Estate Forms – Practice and annual supplements published by Michie, and spoke often on real estate, business, and economic development subjects.

For the 30 consecutive years since its first publication, Dick was recognized in Best Lawyers in America in the field of real estate and was one of Kansas City’s first lawyers elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Dick was also selected for the Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers numerous times, and he was recognized in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in the Midwest.
