Richard Love III
Overview
Drawing from more than 35 years of experience as a commercial trial attorney, Rich Love helps businesses, financial institutions, and professionals favorably resolve complex disputes. Rich’s experience as a commercial trial attorney, and formerly as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the white collar criminal division, has given him unparalleled experience in effective business risk mitigation. If a case must be tried to a jury or arbitration panel, Rich knows what to do from the start. Indeed, whether advocating before juries, judges, or arbitration panels, Rich develops practical strategies focused on achieving successful resolution.
Rich has experience litigating disputes in the oil and gas industry, both upstream and midstream, and he enjoys representing many different publicly-traded and privately-owned businesses. Rich likewise works with financial institutions and lending organizations, specializing in lender liability matters and disputes where his working knowledge of state and federal banking regulations and practices is invaluable. Rich also regularly represents businesses in employment law disputes and is adept at separating fact from fiction to best achieve summary adjudication or narrow a dispute for trial. Oftentimes, Rich represents professionals on both sides of business disputes where contractual non-solicitation provisions and other business torts are at issue.
In addition to his litigation practice, Rich conducts internal investigations for oil and gas businesses, financial institutions, and health care providers and serves as a commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. His experience as an advocate, an investigator and a neutral allows him to help clients evaluate risk, navigate sensitive matters, and pursue solutions aligned with their business objectives.
