Partner
Mike Kirk, a retired partner with Spencer Fane, practices with the firm’s Project Solutions & Real Estate Development Group. His practice concentrates on all forms of leasing transactions, formation and restructuring of ownership entities, property acquisition, financing, management agreements, construction contracts, and disposition of property. He worked as a systems engineer with IBM from 1969-70, and later as law clerk to Associate Justice Matthew O. Tobriner of the Supreme Court of California. Mike served as a Bigelow Teaching Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School in 1973-74 and has taught real estate transactions as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law.
He and Dick Scarritt, another partner with Spencer Fane, are co-authors of Missouri Real Estate Forms – Practice. Mike participates in the Real Estate Law Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and has served as vice chair of that group. He was among The Best Lawyers in America in 2003-2004, Real Estate Law section.
