Overview
Kelly Meadows has over 20 years of experience working with the lead professionals comprising the Spencer Fane nationwide Alcohol Law and Food and Beverage Law teams. She is based in Tallahassee, where most Florida licenses are processed for approvals. Prior to her current work in the private sector, Kelly spent time as a licensing specialist for the Florida Division of Alcohol Beverage and Tobacco.
Beyond her Florida experience, Kelly has worked on licensing and compliance projects for alcohol industry clients across America. To meet clients’ objectives, Kelly regularly consults with personnel from federal, state, and local government agencies, such as alcohol regulatory agencies, zoning authorities, and the relevant Department of Revenue for jurisdictions throughout the U.S.
She works closely with hospitality industry clients and local, state, and federal government agencies to obtain licenses on or before target dates set by clients, and assists clients in tracking the license applications she files until all licenses are approved and issued. Kelly also has the skills and knowledge to help clients maintain their licenses in good standing and current with government licensing agencies.
Kelly has worked on single-location and multi-location licensing projects throughout the U.S., resulting from mergers, acquisitions, and existing businesses expanding into new markets. She is especially adept at working with senior executives and licensee control persons who often do not appreciate the level of personal disclosures that are required for businesses engaged in marketing heavily regulated products such as alcohol beverages.
