Joe Scholten
Overview
Joe Scholten helps businesses through every stage of litigation, from motion practice and discovery through judgment collections and appeals. His varied professional experience informs his approach as he seeks to understand each client’s industry, history, and individual needs.
Prior to joining Spencer Fane, Joe worked as an intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri and spent a semester serving as an intern to the Honorable Jill Morris of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He also gained clerkship experience in private practice, where he conducted research to assist in bond claim investigations, real property disputes, and immigration matters.
While in law school, Joe served as lead comment editor of the UMKC Law Review and competed in mock trial, helping his team win a national competition in 2025.
