Mike Hockley has been awarded the Overland Park Rotary’s Highest Honor

Spencer Fane is proud to announce that Mike Hockley, a Partner in our Kansas City office, has been awarded the Overland Park Rotary’s highest honor, The Ben Craig Distinguished Service Award.

Rotary is a volunteer organization of business, professional and community leaders in over 200 countries who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards and strive to build goodwill in their communities, and the world. Each year the Overland Park Rotary selects one Rotarian who has distinguished himself by fully representing the principles of Rotary. During the voting process, the candidates’ contributions to the club and the community are considered, as well as their professional and business accomplishments.

Mike has excelled in all of these areas. He has been a trustee of the Rotary’s foundation, as well as serving three years as its president. He has also served on the Youth Leadership Institute’s Committee. He has given back to his community by serving in multiple leadership positions within the United Way, including time spent serving as Chair of the United Way of Greater Kansas City. He is currently the President of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College Foundation. He is also a current Elder of his church and has served as president of the board. Earlier this year Mike was honored for his community work, receiving the United Way Adele Hall Spirit of Caring Award for exemplifying the extraordinary compassion and selflessness of the late Adele Hall.

At Spencer Fane he is highly invested in the firm’s success, having served in numerous management positions, as well as being a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.  He is a trusted advisor and mentor to other attorneys in the firm, and highly regarded as a firm leader.

His achievements serve as a hallmark to the Spencer Fane philosophy of community engagement. We are deeply committed to the communities we serve and we encourage all attorneys and staff to pursue passions which may aid and enrich their communities.

Congratulations to Mike for this momentous accolade.
