Mike Hockley Discusses Holistic Approach to Training Military Leaders

Mike Hockley was featured on today’s episode of “Banking on KC,” a podcast hosted by Kelly Scanlon, for a discussion about how the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College  (CGSC) at Ft. Leavenworth’s holistic approach to leadership training is impacting the armed forces.

Mike serves as Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Kansas (Eastern) and was joined by Lt. General James Rainey, Commanding General, U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, for a conversation about the history of the CGSC and its impact on our nation. The CGSC has educated, trained, and developed military leaders, including generals Omar Bradley, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Douglas MacArthur, George S. Patton, David Petraeus, Colin Powell, and many others.

In addition to his role as the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Kansas (Eastern), Mike is Chair, Past President, and a Founding Trustee of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College Foundation Board of Trustees. He’s also served in leadership positions with United Community Services of Johnson County, the United Way of Greater Kansas City and the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, among others. Mike also graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1973.
