Michael Hockley Selected to the ACOEL Foundation Advisory Council

Spencer Fane attorney Mike Hockley recently was selected to serve on the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL) Foundation’s Advisory Council. Mike will serve a one-year term and contribute his efforts toward engaging members and improving the environmental law field.

As part of the organization’s mission, “ACOEL members are dedicated to maintaining and improving the ethical practice of environmental law, the administration of justice, and the development of environmental law through rigorous focus, outreach and education in all forums — federal, state, municipal, tribal and international.”

In addition to the Advisory Foundation Council, Mike also serves as president of ACOEL. He has other leadership experience in numerous civic and professional organizations, including Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Kansas (East), Trustee and Immediate Past Chair of the Command and General Staff College Foundation, and Chair of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce Public Policy and Advocacy Committee. In his practice, Mike is a member of the firm’s Environmental Law practice group and concentrates on litigation, enforcement/regulatory permitting, and renewable energy.
