Laura Bond Elected to REACH Board of Directors

The REACH Healthcare Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to improving health care access and quality for poor and medically underserved individuals through financial support of programs and initiatives, has elected Spencer Fane attorney Laura Bond to its Board of Directors. The 17-member Board of Directors provides governance and oversight to the health philanthropy organization. The elected members included individuals with oral health, higher education, nonprofit, finance, and health care law experience.

Since its inception, REACH has focused on funding three areas – oral health, mental health, and safety net health services. The foundation also invests in public policy and advocacy and special initiatives, including patient-centered medical home model, cultural competency, rural health, and more.

In selecting members, the REACH Board looks for candidates who represent the geographic and demographic diversity of the foundation’s six-county service area that includes Allen, Johnson, and Wyandotte counties in Kansas, and Cass, Jackson, and Lafayette counties in Missouri. The board also seeks candidates with experience in nonprofit management and governance, financial services, health care, and volunteer service, and who share the foundation’s interest in issues that affect individual and community health.
