Ken Mason Quoted by Employee Benefit Adviser on Tax Changes Affecting Transportation Assistance

Spencer Fane LLP partner Ken Mason was recently quoted in Employee Benefit Adviser in an article detailing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act’s effect on transportation assistance benefits.

Titled “Breaking down tax reform changes to transportation benefits”, the article outlines the options employers have now that they cannot deduct pre-tax employee transportation assistance. “Some employers might even be in a position to negotiate free or reduced parking fees from their landlords, thereby sidestepping the taxation issue,” Ken said in the article.
