Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Sarah Heise has joined the Cape Girardeau office as of counsel in the Litigation practice group.
Heise is an experienced litigator, having handled all aspects of civil litigation ranging from workers’ compensation to serious personal injury and death cases. She will be involved in the defense of professional negligence, products liability, and toxic tort actions, along with general commercial litigation.
With deep roots in southeast Missouri, Heise graduated from Dexter High School in 1995 and returning to the area upon graduation from law school in 2001. She currently lives with husband Jeremy Heise and their daughter in Jackson, Missouri.
“Sarah’s ties to the area will be a tremendous asset to our office in Cape Girardeau,” said Patrick J. Whalen, Spencer Fane managing partner. “Her community-oriented focus will assist the firm in providing client-centered services and allow her to immediately contribute to our growing Cape Girardeau practice.”
Prior to joining Spencer Fane, Heise served a stint handling workers’ compensation cases as a Missouri Assistant Attorney General defending the Second Injury Fund and serving as defense counsel for employers and insurance companies. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Missouri and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Heise graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 2001 with Dean’s Honors. Prior to obtaining her Juris Doctorate, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi State University in 1998.
