Spencer Fane partner Lisa Epps has received the Business Practitioner Award from Missouri Lawyers Weekly as part of the publication’s annual Women’s Justice Awards. Epps was one of three selected for the honor, which is given to those who “demonstrate leadership, professionalism and a passion for improving the quality of the justice system or contributing to the betterment of the profession.” Each year, Missouri Lawyers Weekly honors influential women in the legal community from across the state in a variety of categories including “the bar, the bench, public office, business, academia, non-profits and the state at large.” Hundreds of qualified candidates are nominated but only the select few who have made the greatest impact and instrumental progress in the industry are awarded the recognition. Epps and her fellow Women’s Justice Award winners will be honored at a ceremony held on April 30 at the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis, Mo. Epps’ exceptional work within the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Group and Financial Services Group at Spencer Fane has earned her numerous other recognitions throughout her career including being recognized as a Super Lawyer for three consecutive years, being named a Top 50 attorney by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers for two years, being named Best of the Bar by the Kansas City Business Journal five years in a row, and being named one of the Best Lawyers in Kansas City by Ingram’s magazine. In addition to her impressive body of work for clients, Epps also plays a pivotal role in the legal community participating in a variety of impactful industry organizations and frequently speaking and presenting on topics of interest.
