Overview
Chase Fann is an experienced, diverse litigator and a practical problem solver. His practice focuses on the representation of individuals and businesses in a wide range of civil and criminal litigation matters, including commercial contract disputes between businesses, customers, lenders, and tenants; partnership and intra-corporate investigations and separations; post-acquisition contractual disputes; employment claims; trade secret and non-competition advising and litigation; entertainment matters; and state and white-collar criminal defense. Chase has represented clients ranging from professional and amateur athletes, musicians, business executives, public officials, and publicly traded companies to entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits. He leverages his breadth of experience to develop tailored solutions for complex, high-profile, and day-to-day matters with precision and confidence.
As a litigator, Chase regularly appears in state and federal civil and criminal courts and has obtained successful outcomes through jury trials, dispositive motions, and appeals. He has won a jury verdict of more than $4 million, reversed and sustained a trial court ruling on appeal, and successfully represented clients in cases involving allegations of fraud, breach of contract, wrongful termination and discrimination, and non-competition violations. He leads and coordinates litigation across multiple cases and jurisdictions, helping clients maintain a consistent approach to litigation that keeps business goals top-of-mind.
Perhaps more important than the cases Chase has won for his clients are those that he has helped clients proactively avoid. He acts as general counsel for select businesses and entrepreneurs who seek legal guidance without the cost of a full legal department, leveraging his courtroom experience and the firm’s resources to serve a broad range of client needs. Clients call on him during difficult situations for advice on potential legal implications and on mitigating risk while achieving business goals.
Chase completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee before earning his Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis, where he finished ranked second in his class and received awards for earning the best grade in 10 courses. Prior to entering private practice, he served as an extern for the Hon. John T. Fowlkes, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and as an intern for the Davidson County District Attorney General’s Office and the Hon. Julia S. Gibbons in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

- Litigates trade secret, non-competition, and confidentiality disputes, including emergency injunctive relief and departing-employee matters.
- Obtained complete dismissals of regulatory complaints with no disciplinary or licensure consequences, including on behalf of a local business before a state regulatory board.
- Successfully reversed a trial court’s ruling on the interpretation of a will so that his clients could be included in a decedent’s six-figure estate.
- Successfully prosecuted an international defendant for infringing on a local business’s trademark in the U.S.
