Makenna Copeland
Overview
Makenna Copeland assists individuals, families, and business owners with estate planning, trust administration, and tax-related matters. Her practice includes the preparation of wills and trusts, guidance on asset protection strategies, and advising clients on gifting strategies and estate tax planning to help preserve and transfer wealth effectively.
Makenna works with clients across a wide spectrum of needs, from straightforward estate plans to more complex structures involving business interests, multigenerational planning, and tax considerations. She focuses on providing clear, practical guidance so clients can make informed decisions and feel confident their plans reflect their goals.
Before joining the firm as an attorney, Makenna gained technical experience in tax, trust, and estate planning through her former roles as a legal extern, intern, and summer associate at Spencer Fane. She graduated with an emphasis in estate planning at UMKC Law, where she received the CALI Award in her estate plan drafting class.
