Steven Hochberg
Overview
Steven Hochberg concentrates his practice on a broad range of real estate matters, providing effective counsel to achieve efficient and beneficial agreements, including acquisitions, sales, and financings as well as leasing involving both commercial and residential properties. He regularly represents institutional and private lenders in connection with construction and permanent mortgage financing across New York.
Steven has developed a particular focus on affordable housing, where he brings extensive experience advising developers, nonprofit organizations, and lenders on the creation of thousands of affordable housing units. His work in this area often involves navigating complex public-private partnerships and utilizing a wide array of public subsidies, tax credits, exemptions, and bond financing programs at the municipal, state, and federal levels.
In addition to his legal practice, Steven is actively engaged in leadership and advocacy within the affordable housing community. He serves as real estate counsel and a board member of the New York City Housing Partnership and currently chairs the Legal Committee of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing. His professional affiliations also include the Real Property Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association, and he is a former member of the Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Committee of the New York City Bar Association.
