Spencer Fane Now Accepting Applicants for Charitable Giving Program in Kansas City

As reported by The Kansas City Star, Spencer Fane launched its innovative, new charitable giving program earlier this year with the mission of renewing the firm’s commitment to the arts community in Kansas City while maximizing the impact of its annual giving.

The Spencer Fane Charitable Giving Program in Kansas City was created to provide significant support to select local nonprofit arts organizations through a $50,000 donation to each over the course of three years. The program was designed as a rotation so that one new recipient will enter the program each year with another exiting upon completion of its three-year cycle. Spencer Fane’s primary goal for the program is to encourage long-standing relationships with partner nonprofit organizations and provide employees with additional opportunities to become involved with the firm’s causes.

With the end of the first cycle approaching, the firm is currently accepting applications for a new recipient to enter the program rotation in 2016. In order to be considered, organizations must have a strong focus on the arts in Kansas City and have a need for the funds, which will allow the firm to have a significant, positive impact on their causes. It is also preferred that organizations offer the firm and its employees unique and creative ways to become involved and partner with them in their missions.

Current program recipients include the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, which will rotate out of the program this year, ArtsKC-Regional Arts Council, which will stay in the program until 2017, and the Kansas City Art Institute, which was the inaugural program recipient and will stay in the program until 2018.
