Spencer Fane recently hosted an International Women’s Day event for employees and clients featuring well-known speaker, author, advocate, and sports personality, Kathrine Switzer.
Attendees were inspired by Kathrine’s story of perseverance and resilience in becoming the first woman to officially register, run, and finish the Boston Marathon. She spoke on the obstacles she had to overcome, including being told a woman is unable to complete the marathon distance and getting attacked by the Co-Race Director during the race.
Today, Kathrine is an influential advocate for women’s rights and teaches men and women alike ways to create success in difficult situations. The event was sponsored by the Spencer Fane Women ADVOCATE group, whose mission is to foster an environment in which our female attorneys and members can develop, engage, and thrive.
