Overview

Austin Ciuffo is an intellectual property lawyer that represents clients in high-stakes patent litigation throughout the U.S. He litigates infringement cases in a wide variety of technologies, including semiconductors, software, internet and financial transaction security, virtual and augmented reality, intelligent systems, and digital media.

Prior to entering private practice, Austin helped develop an industry-leading patent litigation funding program that enables patent owners to recoup infringement damages from major defendants. He has experience working with litigation funders, IP consultants, and damages experts. Equipped with an MBA, Austin utilizes his financial knowledge and prior litigation funding experience to counsel clients on funding proposals, damages analysis, and optimal damages structures.

Austin also serves as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is regularly appointed to conduct Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) Article 15 investigations and serves as a certified Victim Advocate. He has been selected to continue his service in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.

Austin completed his undergraduate studies at Wofford College. He then earned his Juris Doctor and Master’s in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina School of Law and Darla Moore School of Business. While in law school, Austin served as a judicial intern for the Honorable David C. Norton in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
