Spencer Fane attorney John Browning was recently featured in an article for the Texas Lawyer on a universities’ ability to revoke admissions because of offensive content on social. Law.com and the ABA Journal also quoted John in the national news coverage.
Titled, “’It’s a Matter of Privilege’: Dallas Law School Revokes Incoming Student’s Admission Over Allegedly Racist Posts” the article details a case in which Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law revoked the admission of an incoming law student because of allegedly offensive social media content.
“Being admitted to a professional or graduate program is not a matter of right. It’s a matter of privilege,” John explained in the article. “It can be rescinded for any number of reasons.”
