Litigation Support Manager – Kansas City, Denver, or St. Louis

The Litigation Support Manager position is an exempt, full-time role responsible for independently planning, managing and coordinating all litigation support aspects of multiple complex matters as assigned.  The successful candidate will lead teams of varying expertise, including technical professionals, litigators, and paralegals in employing litigation support tools and services.

The position requires a confident, flexible, proactive professional with solid technical experience. The ideal candidate will possess superb organizational skills, the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously, adapt quickly to meet deadlines under pressure, regularly exercise independent judgment, and provide outstanding customer service.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing electronic communications (including telephone, e-mail), providing timely responses to all e-discovery inquiries
  • Independently plan and manage all litigation support activities associated with matters assigned
  • Train other firm personnel on utilization of litigation-specific software
  • Monitor litigation support software licenses to assign or revoke as appropriate
  • Serve as the primary case team and client liaison for the collection, processing, hosting, review, and production of data maintained in internal and external repositories
  • Manage the timeliness of vendor services (if necessary) and monitor negotiated schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate the set up and maintenance of in-house processing and review projects
  • Deliver exceptional client service both internally and externally in a professional manner with discretion and confidentiality
  • Handle review and allocation of vendor charges to appropriate matters for billing
  • May attend trials to provide litigation support
  • Independently use sound judgment and initiative to develop project timelines
  • Anticipate the business needs of the assigned timekeepers; plans ahead and meets deadlines
  • Interacts with staff at all levels in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism
  • Must bill time as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • 3-5 years prior experience in a litigation support environment required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but e-Discovery certifications will be considered
  • Experience with Relativity and Trial Director strongly preferred; experience with other technology assisted review tools and electronic discovery processing systems helpful
  • Demonstrated project management experience preferred
  • Experience in multiple areas of law a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to advise all levels of personnel on complex technical issues
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment working under strict deadlines
  • Flexibility to travel is necessary
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and proactive, diplomatic business style required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 lbs. required
  • Ability to talk and hear required
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions required
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk required
  • Ability to reach, lift, climb, balance, stoop and crouch required
  • Ability to see and read PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print
