Client Development Manager – Kansas City, MO

POSITION SUMMARY

The Client Development Manager will develop and execute on effective strategies and tactics designed to support the firm’s client development and continued growth. Our Marketing Team is looking for an individual who is proactive in engaging stakeholders across the firm with a drive to leverage a range of marketing-related activities to support the firm’s new business pursuits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with practice group leaders, office managing partners and administrative leadership throughout the firm to develop, maintain and advance the goals and objectives set out in each group’s respective marketing budgets and plans
  • Serve as a liaison with practice groups and making appropriate marketing-related presentations and updates to practice teams
  • Research, manage and prepare responses to new business development opportunities, including formal responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Manage the firm’s events team in a manner that supports, encourages and builds upon the group’s continued success
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Marketing Team to ensure alignment with digital marketing, marketing communications, public relations and events
  • Develop and execute on strategies to market individual attorneys, teams and affinity groups to internal stakeholders, clients, prospects, and the business community, including the firm’s Charitable Giving Program
  • Manage the firm’s engagement with professional associations and community organizations through memberships, advertising and sponsorship programming
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to identify and pursue various surveys, rankings and nomination processes

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field is required
  • Success in professional services-related marketing and business development, including a minimum of five years marketing-related experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to consult with various of the firm’s stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Ability to travel to various marketing/firm events/meetings 20% of the time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve the need for inter-office mobility for brief periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 – 20 lbs
  • Ability to efficiently communicate
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions required
  • Ability to see and read PC screens, detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print
