July 13, 2020

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce attorney Breanna Spackler has joined the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group in the firm’s Kansas City office.

Spackler’s practice focuses on assisting clients across a wide range of industries in complex civil and business litigation. One of her most notable case outcomes involved helping a nationally-ranked building contractor obtain summary judgment on a multimillion-dollar claim involving fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract, which was affirmed on appeal.  In another notable case, Spackler assisted a family-owned printing and fulfillment business obtain summary judgment on copyright infringement claims asserted against it and, after a ten-day jury trial, a verdict in favor of the client on all remaining claims and counterclaims, including breach of contract, violation of the Missouri Computer Tampering Act, conspiracy, and tortious interference.

“Spencer Fane continues to prioritize additional resources to effectively address our clients’ most important legal matters,” said Patrick J. Whalen, managing partner at Spencer Fane. “We continue to grow our litigation team in the markets where we continue to see a need, and Breanna will be a strong addition that deepens our bench in Kansas City.”

Prior to entering private practice, Spackler served as a law clerk for the Hon. M. Douglas Harpool in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri from 2014-2016. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in political science and psychology, and she later earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Law, where she served as lead articles editor of the Missouri Law Review.
