Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of John Browning and Ryan Cole to the firm’s Plano office. Browning joins as a partner, while Cole will serve as of counsel. Both will be part of the Litigation practice.

With three decades of experience, Browning has earned a reputation as a civil litigator with trial, appellate and arbitration outcomes beneficial to clients. He has defended clients in state and federal courts throughout Texas and Oklahoma in matters covering a broad range of areas including product liability; commercial litigation; intellectual property disputes; labor and employment matters; consumer protection; professional liability; health care; class action and other multi-party disputes; and cybersecurity and data privacy.
Browning’s years of experience have made him a “go to” litigator for clients with trial and appellate needs in Texas and federal courts. He has experience in such areas as cyber liability, employment, intellectual property, product liability, and professional liability. Browning has earned Texas’ highest honors for legal writing and legal ethics, and in 2016 received the State Bar of Texas’s highest award, the President’s Certificate of Merit, for his body of scholarship and contributions to the legal profession. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law.
Cole is a civil litigation attorney with experience handling business and commercial, construction, and intellectual property matters in Texas and Oklahoma state and federal courts. He focuses on helping clients reduce their risk and grow their business by identifying and resolving potential legal issues early. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa School of Law.
