Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the hire of Ashley Elmore Drew in the firm’s Tampa office. She will serve as of counsel in the Litigation Practice Group.

Elmore Drew joins Spencer Fane with significant experience in litigation, compliance and regulatory matters involving banks, credit unions, credit card issuers, product distributors, debt buyers, mortgage servicers, hard money lenders and small businesses. In addition to working with lenders in residential and commercial foreclosures, she regularly represents businesses in commercial litigation in state and federal courts and advises depository institutions and their affiliates, mortgage companies, sales finance companies, brokers and nonbank lenders on federal and state consumer and commercial finance, and licensing issues.

With a focus on anticipating and avoiding litigation, Elmore Drew also provides outside general counsel services to small and medium-sized businesses, assisting business owners and management with entity formation, contract drafting and review, vendor management, policies and procedures, training and risk mitigation.

“Ashley has displayed a commitment to high-level client service during her legal career, which most recently includes owning and operating her own firm,” said Kirby McDonough, office managing partner for Spencer Fane in Tampa. “We look forward to her ability to expand our capabilities and also allow us to continue our commitment to best serving our clients’ most important matters.”

Elmore Drew completed two degrees at the University of Central Florida before earning her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. Prior to entering private practice, she worked as a staff attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida.

Spencer Fane opened its Tampa office in January of this year, and the firm currently operates 16 offices located throughout the nation. The growth of the firm’s geographic footprint and service offerings is driven by a long-standing strategy to continually align Spencer Fane resources with the evolving needs of its client base.
