Spencer Fane attorney Robert Lattinville was recently quoted in an article for USA Today on coaches’ contracts and compensation.
Titled, “Cheating allegations, corruption scandal don’t slow men’s basketball coaches’ pay” the article outlines three NCAA basketball coaches’ recent scandals, and how their compensation may be affected.
Describing the contract between Sean Miller and the University of Arizona, Robert explains “The contractual provision in Miller’s contract was the quid pro quo for the University giving him the benefit of the doubt. It’s also not exactly a prohibitive fine for Miller and has more value as a public-relations move to help the university appear proactive in case the NCAA matter gets uglier at Arizona.”
