Spencer Fane attorney Josh Dickinson recently conducted a presentation and participated in a panel discussion at the Receivables Management Association International (RMAI) 2019 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Josh’s first presentation titled “Time-Barred Debt Collection — Compliance Strategies by Circuit,” outlined best practices for collecting on out of statute debt. Josh provided in depth analysis concerning the split of authority from the various federal courts and regulators concerning the manner and propriety of collecting time-barred debt.
Josh also participated in a panel on “Current Issues in Debt Buying” discussing hot-button issues facing the debt purchasing and collection industry. The panel discussion was presented to over 100 industry leaders at the close of the RMAI conference.
