John Browning Outlines Alex Jones, Malpractice Claims in ABA Journal Article

August 25, 2022

Spencer Fane attorney John Browning was recently quoted in an American Bar Association (ABA) Journal article on the potential for malpractice claims by the client, legal disciplinary action by the state, and sanctions in a separate case in Connecticut in the latest Alex Jones defamation trial.

In the article, How Could Mistaken Release of Cellphone Data Affect Texas Lawyer for Infowars Founder Alex Jones?, John shares his thoughts on how the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct can hold lawyers responsible for actions of people they supervise.

John states, “An amendment to the legal ethics rules in 2019 also requires lawyers to be proficient in technology or to work with someone with that expertise.”

At Spencer Fane, John views his role as a trial lawyer to be that of a problem-solver for his clients. Whether it’s analyzing a case’s potential for early resolution through a dispositive motion, working with a client to develop a defensive trial strategy, or putting his extensive writing and media experience to use in helping a client protect its brand in the public eye, John brings a pragmatic, problem-solving approach. John is also a former Justice on the Fifth Court of Appeals.
