Spencer Fane attorney John Browning recently joined a four-person panel for a virtual half-day seminar presented by the Miami Dade Bar Professionalism Committee.
During the March 1 event, Social Media in Your Practice: Ethical Do’s and Don’ts, John co-presented the program’s Section 1 with Legal Ethics Advisor Jan Jacobowitz. Together, they discussed best practices for handling negative online reviews. Topics included how to address comments, company responses, and actions to avoid. Advice from DISCO Senior Digital Forensic Examiner Simon Varley and INGAGE President Katherine Doble followed regarding social media etiquette and investigating opposing social media tactics.
At Spencer Fane, John – a former justice on the Fifth Court of Appeals – views his role as a trial lawyer to be that of a problem-solver for his clients. Whether it’s analyzing a case’s potential for early resolution through a dispositive motion, working with a client to develop a defensive trial strategy, or putting his extensive writing and media experience to use in helping a client protect its brand in the public eye, John brings a pragmatic, problem-solving approach. John also frequently teaches social media guidance and has authored multiple books on the subject.
