May 18, 2022

Spencer Fane attorney John Browning was recently recognized with the Luther (Luke) H. Soules III Award for Outstanding Service to the Practice of Law by the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas.

This honor acknowledges attorneys who embody “excellence in the practice of law and exemplary service to the State Bar of Texas.” Justice Browning earned this award for his contributions to the legal field, including his nearly 33 years as a litigator, his service as a judge on Texas’ Fifth District Court of Appeals, his leadership at the State Bar of Texas, and for being a national thought leader in the areas of technology and the law.

John was also selected for his work in honoring the legal legacies of members of underrepresented communities. As part of the award, a $1,500 stipend is provided to a charity of the recipient’s choice, and John selected the Texas Access to Justice Foundation.

Past honorees include Texas Supreme Court justices and federal judges. To read John’s profile in the Texas Bar Blog, please click here.
