Spencer Fane attorneys Greg Ash and Rob Browning recently published an article in BenefitsPRO explaining the IRS guidance on cafeteria plans.
Titled “IRS provides guidance on COVID relief for cafeteria plans, while CARES Act offers new options,” Greg and Rob outline the IRS changes, and how they may effect employers.
Greg and Rob explained in the article that “employers should carefully consider whether to adopt some, all or none of the changes permitted under Notice 2020-29, and whether to impose additional conditions or limitations on a participant’s ability to make mid-year election changes or to have additional time to spend unused amounts in their FSAs.”
