Spencer Fane attorney Elizabeth Wente was recently interviewed by the Springfield Business Journal as part of the recurring video series, “Business in Motion.”
Titled “Legal Considerations for Employers,” the feature focused on Elizabeth’s work helping employers respond to FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) requests.
In the interview, Elizabeth discusses a cultural shift around mental health that has led to an uptick of FMLA questions from employers and employees. “There historically has been a stigma around mental health issues, and as our culture is kind of accepting that mental health issues are significant issues … We are starting to see more of those questions in the employer organization.”
