Bob Lattinville Interviewed by USA Today on Coaches’ Bowl Game Bonuses

Spencer Fane attorney Bob Lattinville was recently interviewed for an article in USA Today on the growing trend of high performing athletes skipping college football bowl games, possibly affecting coaches’ bonuses that are contingent on winning bowl games.

Titled, “Some players skip bowls with bonuses at stake for coaches” the article outlines the effects this new trend could have on coach salary negotiations.

“Consequently, both parties are usually better off saving their negotiation gun powder for economic provisions that better marry their long-term interests and don’t create the impression of wasting money or calling into question their motivations for encouraging a player to play in a given bowl,” Bob explained.
