Spencer Fane attorney Blane Markley was recently interviewed by the Kansas City Business Journal in an article discussing the expansion of the University of Kansas Health system throughout the state of Kansas.
Titled “KU Health System’s Kansas expansion results from patient approach,” the article outlines the organization’s acquisition of several rural hospitals to provide more effective care to residents in those communities.
“It’s a way of planting a flag in those rural communities with the idea that you will ultimately pull a lot of the larger or more complex procedures back to the main campus,” Blane said. “Transplants, complex surgeries and strokes, those types of procedures come back to Rainbow Boulevard.”
